What I do now, manifested into something so great over the years! I believe in knowing, someone you look up to, there past that got them "here" currently, helps to spark determination, appreciation, & self-drive in you. So I'll take you through it...
People mainly know me for makeup but it came from somewhere that I love dearly - drawing/sketching; that is my first true love when it comes to gift/skill/talent. I am a self-taught sketch artist, that's how I started. I sketched my first proud sketch in middle school at home on a chalk board - it was a cat, lol.
Fast forward a bit, I jumped into makeup from being a praise dancer at age 8 which we had to look presentable when ministering. My mom was the one who applied makeup on me, & from that first time I couldn't WAIT till the next performance. I thought I was extra fine!
From just sketching I started my business (B. Younique) at age 13.
Around age 18, I asked my mom to teach me how to apply makeup in the most simplest form, because I've known to be very simple. She took me to MAC (when it was really MAC - no shade) & literally told me to apply my makeup as if I'm sketching on my face & BAM.. I knew exactly what to do. Shortly became interested in modeling & started doing a bit of photoshoots too. Of course, with time, research, practice & mistakes, comes wisdom in what I love to do.
I attended a university in Texas & to save some money I decided to stop relaxing my hair which led me to "go natural", from then I really fell in love with my hair in its natural state. I started a YouTube channel with all things beauty & hair. I started taking natural hair clients as a side job & started getting known in school for anything about natural hair. I started getting asked different questions about it which led me to start a Facebook page/organization called Nat-Tri-Elle. I joined a organization on campus called Beautiful Alliance & we merged the 2 organizations on campus. We got a lot of buzz from doing natural hair fashion shows to natural hair expos, that had known & independent natural hair companies participate.
So by that time, I have a love for hair & makeup. Moved back to Miami after I graduated to per sue my dreams. I started developing the website, different ways to market, tailored my social media, & attended networking events. Decided to go back to school to get my esthetician license to gain credibility. I fell in love with healthy skin & started to really promote "skin" as apart of B. Younique.
I was blessed to start working with Paul Mitchell School of Miami which I work the Front Desk & started teaching makeup/skin specialty classes there.
Met a couple of professionals along the way that helped nurture me & my passion & working with names whom I never thought I would work with. I got the opportunity to attend Paul Mitchell the School Miami as a Future Professional & now I'm currently first chair & I graduate in June 2016! Recently my husband & I started an all natural beauty line & we're in the works of furthering our success!
I hope this quick story helps you through your journey in what you love!

I've noticed not just with the questions I receive but on YouTube comments, etc that people try to buy the best product based on the appearance of that person's skin. They want to know the "trick" of how to make one's skin flawless..
As an Esthetician it is crucial to have these basic kinds of products apart of your facial routine. Different types of products vary depending on your skin type.
*Do note that the outcome or health of your skin is also caused internally too not just topical; by what you intake.
So here is a quick breakdown for what you should have in your facial stash!
-Makeup Remover (if you wear any makeup)
-Astringent (if you do or don't wear makeup)
Hope this helps!
Till next Monday!
