I get it! You can either be the person that has a passion for something that can generate income for you & not have any idea of how to start, or you're a business person that can help someone with the passion to start a start-up, or you're the person that does both.
This post is SPECIFICALLY for all 3 types of people. Notice for all types of people you need to be passionate about something; that's the easy part. It's at this very moment that when people figure out their passion they freeze as to what the next steps are.
The next step is to make your passion tangible. We live in a generation that starting up a start up could be as tangibly quick as YOU want it to be. Here's a few simple steps:
Step 1: Design your logo. You can ask people graphic designers who can do it for you or you can do it yourself. Try photoshop!
Step 2: Discover your target audience. Who & what are you trying to sell or give your services to? What age range? Local, intercontinental, national? Figure out who they are & study the actions of that minority.
Steps 3: Set & write short/long term goals. This is important. This turns your impossibles into POSSIBLES. Have a notebook set aside for your business goals, what day & even time of when you want to receive each goal & when it's received, cross them off!
Step 4: Domain website. Your potential clients needs a main source to stay connected with you. It is also a professional pictorial diary of your BEST work in a format that it is easily navigated. Your site should always be updated. Check out squarespace.com, weebly.com, wix.com !
Step 5: Set up social media. The names on your social media should be the same as your business name & website. You should post at least 3 times a day; morning, noon & night. Keep in mind that businesses does not sleep. When you're sleeping in other countries it is morning. In your bio, place your website, remember your site is your MAIN source to draw traffic to. Main social media are instagram, Facebook pages, tumblr, snapchat, periscope, & twitter!
Step 6: Monthly newsletter. Make your clients special, set up a way they can receive promotional & discount emails for products &/or services. Checkout mailchimp.com, constantcontact.com & styleseat.com !
Step 7: Business cards. Should be simple & straight to the point. Check out vistaprint.com, zazzle.com !
This needs to be on the card:
Business logo or business name
Title of what you do
Business # (create a free business # through Google Voice!)
Step 8: Create a business email. Self explanatory, your business name should be your email.
Step 9: People have to pay somehow! Create an avenue that clients can pay cash, credit or debit. Check out square.com & styleseat.com !
Step 10: CONSISTENCY. In order for your business to mature & thrive, it is a must to be consistent, to keep your viewers & clients engaged!
I'm no expert but these few steps has helped me tremendously & is still working in my favor!
Till next time,
